Now, I’m merely hoping that we’ll see another novel set in this world. By the end, I found myself wishing that it would never end. But it was the writing, and the characters themselves, who kept me coming back for more. I was immediately sucked into the story, thanks heavily to the theme and the setting. There’s a florid way in which Poston writes, and it resulted in an enchanting read. I loved the whole aesthetic of it, but it’s more than that as well. I really enjoyed Among the Beasts & Briars – more than I expected to if I’m being honest.
